What we mean is you make your own CAI and retain your air box along with a pannel filter of your choice ( i prefer dry but that's my choice) you ditch the original intake system up to the air box & replace it with 90mm PVC pipe & one or two PVC bends in guard, preferably with a couple of flared ends, you need a hack saw, a heat gun, some cable ties & glue - costs about $15 & cos it's in guard you never see it or have to clean it, I can only imagine what a pain in the arse it is taking your inner guard off every time you want to clean or see your fancy K&N pod filter. Can't see any reason a front mount would make any difference but I'm no mechanic & I'm not into bling so I couldn't give a fuck what the intake looks like, just as long as it works & it's efficient & this seems to be the case.

dgen, cheap fmics often require the removal of the airbox for their long winded piping
