Default 90 deg bend silicone air intake hose into top mount intercooler

hey guys,

need some help here. i searched older posts and could not find anything related.

recently i started hearing some loud air noises from the engine bay, only to find that the 90deg bend silicone air intake hose into my top mount intercooler had come off. took it to Stechnic and the guys did an awesome job in putting it back together in time for the colin mcrae cruise recently.

however it has come off again. the guys advised at the time that as my top mount intercooler is misaligned and i needed a longer hose than the standard factory subaru hose.

i am after a 90deg Bend, silicone hose that can withstand up to 20psi boost, 50mm internal diameter and at least 200mm long (outside bend length). i have include a picture, its the red hose.

can anyone help?

thanks
ben

Im assuming its out of whack because he fitted an STi inyercooler to his wrx.

From my research (im doing the same) you can just get a longer IC to Throttle body hose (short fat bit) which is much easier to find. I think its 2.75inch diameter and you need about another inch. That way it should line up with the mounting brackets.

Which Y pipe did you use also? You need an STi Y pipe which is about an inch longer than the wrx

Go Gear have this the straight bit, I replace mine for a Cypher intcooler to throttle body on a MY06 STi after it failed. Had to cut it down but no biggie.
