Stock transmission mount mod...?

When it comes down to it... im a cheapskate... could be a symptom of marriage

Has anyone done this mod before? Ive read a couple of things with positive results.

if its tl;dr the jist of it is you take your standard tranny mount, pump it full of sikaflex (or similar) let it cure and reinstall, and supposedly stiffens the mount up similar to a bought one

I guess on top of that, is there any disadvantage to installing a more solid transmission mount and leaving stock engine mounts in?

Just buy a new Group N one.. They're not expensive at all!

I did this as a temp fix when mine started to get floppy & I couldn't get a Group N one.
It worked ok but the Group N is definitely better & less time consuming (waiting for it to dry)

^ $70ish from subaru genuine parts in the US.

i did it as a test for shits & giggles on an old mount, defo makes it firmer (about as firm as an sti mount) but agree with above, get the group N as its stiffer, remember a tube of sikaflex is about 20odd bucks anyway

Gets more expensive as you need to include shipping as well.

Cheers for the input peeps, time is not an issue as the car isn't a daily. I've just put down a bit of money on it before the skidpan coming up, so another $120 odd may not seem much but try telling the minister of war and finance :p if I did do it, it would only be temporary anyways
