205 rebuild would not be cheaper, especially with melted pistons.

What caused the detonation? I didnt know you could melt a piston.

The price will entirely depend on how much of your existing set up is salvagable.
If the cylinder heads are good and can simply be faced and reused, if the clutch is worth re-installing, the timing belt idlers etc are all good to re-use the price will be lower. If you start with new everything and upgrade some parts you could easily add up to lots more. Obviously your radiator is new so that's one less cost in the whole scheme.


There are lots of ways to cut the budget, but be carefull of a low 'quote' that does not include averything it should have, or one that blows out to double once you commit.

clutch is new as well so def that. Sik em wrex racing (tim) said most likely fuel surge(f@cKed pump) or injector fault to be the cause as the boost was only set at 15psi.... i have pic of it lol... the rest of it all eg other 3 pistons look fine and engine was well looked after he said.... looks like those regular oil changes helped
