Default Brant Alarm system

Yo.

So, my 05 WRX has finally had the typical problem, and the heat has gotten to the brant alarm, i'm pretty sure its just fried the actual insides of the keypad.

Anyway, Subaru want $350 to fix this, however I'm curious as to if theres any better aftermarket alarm systems that I can use that will be cheaper/better in the long run? Thanks!

Default New keypad module

I got a new keypad module direct from Brant in Sydney and it cost $195.00 programmed, shipped and fitted locally by their agents in Burswood.
Not that expensive!

Subaru dealers are a rip off!

Alright im having an intermittent electrical issue in my 06 sti fairly sure it's too do with the stock Brant system. Basically I go to start the car and it just turns over without starting. I notice I don't hear the 'bzzzzz' of the fuel pump priming which I normally hear. It's only done it about four times so far but twice in the last week. Usually turning the key back and forth to ignition a few times eventually gets it going. I'm thinking its to do with the security system not activating the fuel pump, for whatever reason. I don't want to rip the Brant out, I guess I'm looking for an easy fix or diagnosis. Cheers.

Easy fix and diagnosis. Rip the Brant out. The best thing I have ever done. Some people are lucky and have no trouble, mine was programmed on valet mode when I got it. Car got broken into, the alarm didn't make a peep. Ripped out and replaced with Autowatch for $500 and never looked back.

Would rather try and fix then just rip it out as I'm sure it's something simple...

aint no easy fix when it comes to the brant. iv replaced and or removed the brant on a lot of cars, its cheaper to remove. you still retain the factory immobilizer and central locking
