Default GT forester white smoke/undrivable

Hi guys, ive owned subarus for almost 5 years now and have never had to post on a forum before as ive usually been able to find a previous post which solves my problem. However ive been searching frantically for 2 weeks now and cant find a story quite the same as this, so appologies if i have missed one and am reposting an already solved issue.

I was driving down the freeway in my gt forester when it started to have bursts of power loss then power again. Got to work with the cel and oil light on. i checked the oil and it was still full. as i pulled the dipstick out the engine stalled as if there was a vacuum through the sump. Left it over night and since then it starts with a little white smoke then as it idles smoke becomes thicker. When i accelerate smoke blows out the back and feels like its missfiring. When revs come back to idle the car nearly stalls. There is also alot of condensation in the muffler but im not loosing coolant or oil as far as i can tell. Compression test shows 175 at all pistons and turbo doesnt sound blown or seazed. Oil is not milky either which to me rules out a head gasket? Any pointers on what to check or previous experience with this problem would be much appreciated! Thanks guys!!

First thing I'd check is what CEL code got thrown up.

Then, check all intercooler hoses for leaks.

CEL doesn't come on anymore, will a code still show with no light? I'm in the middle of changing the pcv valve now and will check all the intercooler piping while I'm at it! Thanks

Yeah, code is stored even when the light is off.

Read that first as you might be looking in the wrong spot (most likely not, but its the first thing to do imo).

Finished changing the pcv and took it round the block but still fills my neighbourhood with smoke lol . Won't idle either now so looks like I'm gonna have to get the CEL checked! Does anyone know of a decent call out mechanic that will plug their little computer in?

Rooted Turbo?
Oil seals go then the oil gets fed stright into the inlet, did mine at a rally once looked like the bat mobile coming through the bush.

turbo, or pcv/cam case breathers are loaded with oil.

when was the last time you checked and topped up the oil anyway?
