Car died, refuses to start.

Ok so this is the story-

Was doinh around 60kms, fourth gear
On manning road, no boost or load, just cruising. Car suddenly jerked and almost stalled, all power dissapeared and i had to keep blipping the throttle to get it off the road onto the curb.

Car cranks great, but wont start. Has half a tank of fuel-

When starting i can hear the fuel pump prime, i ripped the hose off the filter and fuel sprayed out when key was switched on. Ive checked all fuses and vac hoses ect i can see.

I ripped out the coilpacks, attached to the block and the plugs seem good. Wasnt sure about how i go about testing the coilpacks or plugs themselves, but they looked fine. Looked being the keyword.

Im at a complete loss, and being an apprentice money is very tight. If anyone could give me some suggestions on checking, or located near cannington that would be willing to have a look for me, would greatly be appreciated.

Just my luck, after having my car reversed into by the postie van!

Edit-- battery died while cranking, attempted to recharge but it seems the batterys shot. Could that be the cause?

This clown...

Sounds a lot like what mine did when a front mount hose blew off.

As above or a vac line

Bigboosst 24-03-2013 03:31 PM

I was sure id checked all vac lines, but ill have another looksie. Maybe im missing one, if anyone knows from memory where they are all located, that would be a great help.. Ill do some more googling in the mean time.

Cheers guys.

Edit- running stock top mount, but ill
Check all major hoses and vac lines still connected. Cannot for the life of me find a dangling hose, or connector missing a hose.

Check the Y-pipe under top mount. It's quite a common problem.

They are all located around the engine, in the engine bay. I can upload a pic if you need.
