Default Clutch replacement help needed

Hey guys, thinking of getting my clutch replaced. Got a quote of $1400 from a Suba specialist, pretty ridiculous right? Need some advice and recommendations on a reliable mechanic to bring my baby to.

Also, should I get the stock standard clutch or a heavy duty clutch, I read somewhere that installing a heavy duty clutch will put extra stress on the gears and can cause them to wear faster.

best option is to get something heavier duty than stock as the stock is only intended for just that, Try emerald in joondalup. Hands down the most honest mechanics (family business) you will come across

if you like flat-changing & smashing through the gears flat stick, stick with a stock spec clutch

if you're chasing 200+kw atw and are more conservative driving. ie slot into gear & then wind the power on.... then go for heavy duty clutch

flat-changing & smashing gears with a HD clutch will result in broken gears... guaranteed!!

1400 for a clutch installed in a Subaru is not ridiculous. You should see how much work is involved including machining you old flywheel.

Thanks guys, might stick with the stock. Any recommendations on where I should get it done and how much is it going to cost me?
