Default one of those awkward to explain questions

Hey guys/gals, Noticed lately a few strange noises coming from i think the turbo area. Will explain best i can.
So when i accelerate full throttle i get a high pitched whistle sound coming from the turbo. this noise only happens when the turbo is under full boost. at the same time as this has started i can hear a "flickering (this is the hard part)" type sound as i the engine is running. Nearly like sticky lifters but very faint. And also i get a random turbo flutter when i let the car de accelerate from 3000rpm and above and this flutter also happens sometimes when i'm going from 2nd to 3rd gear but driving casually and the flutter happens just before i change gears. Difficult one to write down.

Anyway, I personally was thinking the high pitch whistle and flickering noise could be the result of an air leak like a blown gasket around the turbo? Which in turn could be causing the fluttering.

Does this sound plausable and if so can it result in bad turbo damage or just simply a loss of power.

Many thanks

^^^ Yes video would be best, btw that slight ticking noise your hearing could be detonation and unrelated to other issues.

any oil leaking from anywhere/inter cooler/intake etc and does the turbo/dumpipe etc look sweet? Also double check all the belts etc - still no joy, take it to someone, depending on which side of the river you live

Ticking could be the factory boost control. The whistle, likely a boost leak.
