$350 vs the fuck around and cost of swapping out the ecu or even a new engine in the worst case.

I know which option I'd be going for and might not even take an hour as it could be something very simple as said above... eg:AFM

Alternatively contact Doug at Stechnic if you don't want to go see MMS or even Mao and book the car in to get checked over to see if it's something else.

Sod the ECU. Sell the car and buy a STI.

You can't rule out the airflow meter just because someone has twice cleaned it. My experience with 'cleaned' airflow meters has been largely negative. Get a good AFM in it and see if it runs well. (one you know is good from another car or a genuine Subaru one (from a Subaru dealer, not E Bay!)

I put a new genuine AFM in it a few months ago,it ran good for 2 weeks then reverted back to shit.

Cleaned the AFM with the correct MAF cleaner but still ran crap,2 weeks ago I notice that my Airbox lower is missing the 2 plastic tabs that hold the Airbox lid down, ive since seen its a common problem!!. I took the Airbox out and put 2 screws on the lid for now so the Filter seals correctly until I can get hold of another stock Airbox.

I cleaned the AFM 2 weeks ago with ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL as Id ran out of the MAF Cleaner, from googling I see many are using that Isopropyl Alcohol as it leaves no residue. The car ran really well for just under 2 weeks again then reverted back to spluttering, sluggish acceleration, hesitation. Ive since cleaned the AFM again twice ...this time with the correct MAF cleaner but it didn't do anything this time.

I'll have to source up another INTACT Airbox(they all seem to have either 1 or 2 of those tabs broken off!) and buy yet another AFM, then see how it goes from there I guess?

Right, so what makes you think it's the ECU causing the problems again?

I know I ask this all the time - But do it have a Brant alarm system? If it does, fuck it off. Mine did the same thing and caused me months of dramas.

No Brant System onboard, they have a Keypad ,yes? My car just has the key with the lock/ unlock buttons..

I really don't know 100% if it ECU probs or AFM? but Id just rather the ECUTEK be gone anyways, that way any Workshop can perform realtime diagnostics etc instead of just the licenced ECUTEK tuners.

I have seen similar problems due to a shat fuel pump. It may not be the case here, however I still am cautious simply blaming the ECU 'going out of tune'.

With my bug when it had the sock ecu no tune had same issues as you, did all you have done and in the end bought a genuine afm from dealer no issues. So if you would like to borrow my afm and see pm me my car now runs a aftermarket kaputer and do not rely on afm anymore.

Any Workshop or any one with a OBD2 scan tool can perform realtime diagnostics with out the need for Ecutek.

MMS charge $104.50 for the diagnostic check.

$330.00 is to place the car on the dyno to check / retune the tune under load.

you would be quoted / called / emailed should there be issues related to your car
