If it were me I'd stick with the 2.0L, build it bulletproof and jam a heap of boost down its neck. You can't do that with a 2.5 without spending stoopid amounts of money.

Oh yeah i see what you mean about the heads will allow the manifold to line up but what about the brackets for the altenator and power steering and aircon, arent those brackets mounted on the manifold and the block?

Nope i havent got it to max power, i havent even had it tuned with the power fc and the new sti engine yet because i broke the gearbox before i could tune it. Last dyno i had was at 263 bhp i think so yes its not exactly fast and ive got a long way to go, but im just really curious about this conversion

Sorry about the double post, dont know why it done that.

You have a good point, to be completely honest it was never a power thing really, just i like to do things different and do it myself. This seemed like a good challenge to tackle. What do you think about maybe a 2.3l stroker kit? Too unreliable?

2.3L is a de-stroked 2.5L, using a 2L crank(75mm stroke)
If you want 2.5L(99.5 bore), find a short that has done a ringland or something, get rods and pistons to suit 2L heads, JE pistons do it, maybe Manley too, then you can use everything that is already on your car minus the short block.
If the 2L(92mm Bore) block is what you want to use you can put a 2.5(79mm stroke) crank in with stroker pistons to make 2.1L or use a turbo EJ22 for 2.2L which has a 75mm stroke with 96.9mm bore.
Hopefully that gives you some options.
