Wouldn't you be able to get better flow from the Sti? Bigger port isn't it?

Pretty sure I read somewhere you can also rev sti higher without tappet noise as opposed to the my00.

sti has shim under bucket, where as wrx has shim over bucket
shim under bucket is better for vehicles with aftermarket camshafts

As above with the buckets, but also if your keeping the cams the STI ones are a bit more aggressive

STI Shim under buckets allows higher rpm, the heads have bigger valve pockets and the OEM STI valves are Sodium filled. Cams are different (higher lift on STI).

But in saying that I went from V6 Sti heads to bugeye wrx heads converted to shim under buckets using OEM sodium filled valves, Crower high lift cams and crower valve springs for my build - it pulled like a train :P

I forgot to mention the the STI heads have shorter valve stems to facilitate higher cam lift as well
tuna, STI325V6 and fobz like this.

my options are stock my00 wrx heads with cosworth cams

or

v5 sti heads with cosworth cams and springs

just seeing if it is worth the extra $$

Check the V5/6 heads VERY carefully before committing to them....

This is why I didn't re-use my V6 heads
