Help with window tint
Hello,
I'm close to smashing the rear windshield. I've taken the tint off but I cannot get the glue off... Any suggestions would be appreciated. Stefan |
Struggle with either metho or carby cleaner. Took me hours
I like your honesty with the close to smashing the windshield haha |
What have you tried? The one car I've de-tinted came up spotless with soapy water and a razor blade but it might have been fresh

steam
I've been using a steamer the whole time but the thing came off in a million pieces.
Wax & grease remover, no go. I would scrape it but the demister heater wires would get damaged if they aren't already. Ill try warm soapy water. Apparently if you rub it down with ammonia and let it 'bake' it comes right off. Something along the lines of de-solv-it or orange oil may be also be of help.

Tried kerosene, or fuel? Obviously don't go smoking a fag with any of those at the same time ;)

Use windex and some elbow grease to remove left over glue/residue. No other easier way besides using steamer or heat gun when removing tint. Be careful not to strip your demisters

I can imagine that's how the guys at ferrari felt when they glued the F40 together. And this-a goes here-a...va fanculo... its-a stuck-a... Bunnings isn't open on Christmas day...how about that? |
