Default Mysterious ticking sound coming from the rear of my 02 rex

I am constantly hearing some weird ticking noise when I change down from 4 -3 and 3 -2 and when I change up from 2 -3 and 3- 4. It is coming from the rear of the car and I can hear it when I open my windows. The sound doesn't appear to be alarming or damaging, it almost sounds as though it is supposed to be there, but then again I could be wrong seeing as I'm quite the noob. haha any ideas? help appreciated..

Do you owe people money or have a large insurance policy? Have checked under the car?

Yes it is just after changing the gear, a small ticking sound maybe once or twice consecutively. then when cruising no noise.

I had a ticking noise many years ago and it turned out to be a loose wheel weight on the inside of the wheel/rim. Would only tick (flap about) at 50kms or higher, and would disappear at 90kms+ (centrifugal forces at play perhaps).

Worth checking, its more likely than a timb bomb or a crocodile under your car.
