Can anyone recommend a decent spring setup then? (including all the parts needed, not just springs) :P

Coil overs. I tried lots of spring and stutt combos. I preferred the coil overs.

Just buy some hsd's plenty of people run them with no issues. Riceman1991 may even still have a set of bc coilovers you could buy.

I just want a better handling car???? I'm asking for peoples opinions on coilovers and if they are worth buying cheaper ones or not. Obviously a lot of people are just upgrading springs and liking it so I think that is the go. I just wanted to know if buying cheap coilovers is even worth it as they probably aren't any better than springs and camber plates. Basically i've seen its better to go for quality springs and what not then to get some cheap crappy $700 coilovers.
Anyway thanks for the feedback guys

Go get some hsd's or std's, better than springs on some 200 000km struts.

If you can't afford some decent new coilovers (ie $2500 +) or if you can't find some quality ones (eg Tein SS, KW V3, DMS 40, G4's) second hand in good nick, then you are better off getting something along the lines of some decent low springs (Eibach, H&R etc) with Koni adjustable dampers and maybe camber tops if you want. I suggest you chat to John Fowler (John Fowler Autosports) on 0416 105 911.
rjb and dnbosiris like this.

HSD 800, I had these on my old wrx and a mate runs them on his Sti not as good as the brand names but I never had any issues with them.
