Methanol Injection

Hey everyone,

I know on the old forum, a few people were running this with excellent results.

What I want to know is, what kit was everyone using? Also, what kind of results should I expect from something like this?

i was thinking a DIY kit, such as this one, and having my Motec run it all.

Thoughts, comments and suggestions are much appreciated :D

Cheers!

save $ dont buy a kit, all you need is a nozzle, pump, acumulator and tank.

motec can do the rest

Cheers Stace,

My question is, what is an accumulator, why is it needed and where do i get this stuff from??

.........$$$?

accumulator is used to keep the mixture at a constant (high) pressure to atomise the liquid

$350 and its yours, this for a complete kit, that a motec would complement the control of...i have another 1 in my old RS....Ron 0418 902 157

bingo,
basically it allows you to have the pump and tank in the boot out the way and the accumulator maintains the pump pressure all the way to the front of the car,

regular systems need to have the pump and tank in the engine bay, which makes the options of fuels limited in case of fire, or alternatively require two pumps, one in a surge tank in the engine bay, the other from the boot.

boot mounted tanks allow more fluid, and also allow more freedom in fuels, ie race fuel/methanol/water/mixtures of all the above

hmmm would this give much cooler engine conditions. The reason im asking would or could this supplement having to say put sleeves in a 2.5ltr block? i.e a cheaper alternative?

generally you fit meth injection to push the limits even further, but yeah i imagine you could use it to provide some cooling effect to the intake charge to cool the motor down. wouldnt be as fun, but hey- itd work :)
