I've got some 215/45 r17 tyres and wanted to know if Im running the right psi and what you guys run?

ive got it on 32front and 34back

Toohey 19-03-2014 01:42 PM

Check inside your drivers door. Pretty sure for that size its 32 front 29 rear

using the Perth-WRX mobile app

Not sure on official answer, but I have the same size tyre and run 39 front 37 rear. Anything less and you may get premature tyre wear.

The front tyres should be inflated an extra 1-2 psi more than rears to my understanding.

Run 40 in both, what I got told or else you'll get sag and wear

johnvk7 19-03-2014 01:52 PM

35psi front and rear

I run 36/34 (f/r) on 225/18/40

teejay 19-03-2014 02:15 PM

People who are running more than 34 ... are you setting your pressures hot or cold?

TROLLEY 19-03-2014 02:36 PM

Mostly done late at night, so... cold?
How much are they going to expand in the heat/when warmed up?

When I got my tyres put on, John said they'd take 38/40 just fine and to just watch my tyre wear and adjust accordingly if I encounter any noticeable wearing at the edges or across the middle section of the tyre.

Patch 19-03-2014 02:36 PM

40 PSI F&R, usually cold. I do the same for cars at work with tyres 45 profile or below.

Going on 50k kms and they're still evenly worn with about 40-50% tread remaining.
