2014 WRX Technical issues
Hi All
I have been searching everywhere and have come up with nothing. Nothing in the manual either  On the 2011+ models the WRX has a safety feature when you use the remote to open the doors. Press the button once and it opens the drivers side door, press it again to open the rest. Do you know of a way that will allow you to press the remote once to open all the doors at the same time ? This really drives me nuts when I have a bunch of people getting in the car and I have to repeatedly press the remote button to make sure all the doors are open when people try to get in. Also, do you know of a way to make the car beep when you press the remote ? I like the sound of the early 90's WRX's when they are opened and started  Any help would be appreciated, Cheers |
This is the double locking security feature that comes enabled by default.
There should be a note or reference on how to disable it in the manual that the car came with. Not too sure on if it is possible to get the Sigma alarm to chirp on arming/disarming. |
Yeah the double tap thing irritates me too, Apparently u can change it but I haven't got round to it yet, I can't synch my iPhone yet

Just replace the head unit, I had issues with bluetooth until I did this, hasn't skipped a beat since! Just got the manual out of the car, 2-20 deals with the locking/unlocking but doesn't really mention much more about the scheme. Did a quick google across the usual forums and it seems that people have been told that it is a safety feature that can't be disabled or can't be disabled without assistance of a dealership. Best bet would be to ring them up and see what can or can't be done. |
Thank you Soksta, I pretty much came up with the same thing too, the manual didn't offer any help and other forums only expressed their irritation towards it.
Off to the dealership I suppose :( really wish there was a way for the owners to change it though. |
Pressing the lock key 5 times or unlock key 5 times in a row....one enables the chirp and one disables it, if its available on that model ;) just not sure anymore which combo does on or off haha try both
On the 5th press it will single beep or double beep and that signals its on. |
Hook a siren up to the hazard light circuit, with a switch to disable the siren when you need to the hazards.
|
Or above.
|
Nice car, did you read the manual?

Haha my bad.
I would of thought a brand new product would come with tech support from the dealer. |

It does, unfortunately they want to charge for everything they do. I remember being told that it would be free to get the keypad setup on the 08 and 11, yet I've heard of quite a number of people being told that a one off fee of $150 applies... |
I got the key pad set up at my first service from Subaru Osbourne Pk no charge... The beep when locking and unlocking sounds good... Any one tried pressing the button 5 times and had any luck?
using the Perth-WRX mobile app |
^Yes, up to the 07 model the process I described in my post is standard for activating or deactivating the lock/unlock chirp.
Not sure if the chirp has been completely removed on 08+, I would think its still there if you have a brant keypad enabled...try it and report :) |
I tried pressing unlock 5 times and I tried pressing lock 5 times, but with no results, probably a new alarm system in these models ?
I really don't see why WRX owners should have to take the car back to the dealer every time they want to change a factory setting. |
Then I would guess they changed something in the 08+ :( no chirp.
Ring up and ask the Subaru if it's possible to have the chirp on your model. Also it may have something to do with the key position on the brant alarm box(the one inside your engine bay) for that feature to work. The beeps come from this box. Best ring Subaru Osborne park and ask IMO, the service guys will know for sure. |

Click left one page to get to the options for the security arming / disarming part. Dunno if this helps at all. |
i read th manual mate on this when i got mine and its not chirping for a reason.. if you go to your car one day, unlock it and it chirps it means the car has been tampered with since it was locked and to be cautious. this is because most thieves for these cars will hold you up personally for the keys and code. manual says if it chirps to be extra cautious and even mentions locking it back and walking away. it keeps this up for a while then the chirp seems to dissapear.
The alarm system is not Brant in MY08+ models
Second post mentioned this, people need to remember to read before posting :D |
Found this on Subaru Sigma alarms from scoobynet... looks like this is it :)
turn on ignition press remote key fob button press 7 on keypad turn ignition off again Chirps are now activated - you get 2 chirps on locking and one on unlocking. Reapeating the same procedure with * instead of 7, toggles between loud/quiet chirps. Other codes: 0 - Allows you enable the alarm even if one of your doors/bonnet/boot cannot be shut. 2 - Disables ultrasonic protection if you want to lock animal/child in the car. 4 - Enables automatic door locking 5 - Disables 4 8 - Displays vehicle battery voltage with LED eg 12 flashes = 12 Volts 9 - switches on "super lock" - when activated can only be disarmed by using the 4 digit pin code. Handy if you leave the car in dodgy places. http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin/f75/remote-lock-chirp-32966/ |
^Someone with sigma try and let us know if it makes chirping happiness
|
Doesnt work on mine. Those codes r for sigma m30, 08+ use s32.
using the Perth-WRX mobile app |
I would assume if there is a way to chirps on sigma s30 there should hopefully be a way on the s32 :)
08+ owners need to search some more. |
Tadaaaaa... Found it ...Subaru codes for S32 Sigma:
Auto arm with door locking 60 seconds after the last door has been closed, Note make sure keys arnt in the vehicle. *17856 wait for the beep *004*1# turns it on. everytime a door is opened it will beep twice to inform you that its active door unlock/locking beeps *17856 wait for the beep *000*1# turns the beep on when locking and unlocking although admittedly not very loud Read- Sigma S32 Codes - ScoobyNet /End thread :p ^try and let us know... that one has to work ffs lol |
It works! Thanks!
Note: Unlike m30, dont insert key when type codes. using the Perth-WRX mobile app |

Brilliant RJ999, it worked :) Thank you, now I just want to make it so that all doors will open with one press of the button, instead of pressing it a twice
|
HAHA Awesome... happy to have been able to help :)
Public service made to all 2008 to 2014 owners, cost saved by not having dealer charge 100buks for every door/alarm function change. Mods - I think this might be a good Sticky and thread renamed to "2008-2014 SIGMA Alarm Function codes"? |
Just tested *17856*005*0# is to turn off auto rearm.
using the Perth-WRX mobile app |
Can a mod sticky this for future reference?
|
^and should also rename thread title to what I mentioned 2 posts above '2008-2014 SIGMA alarm function codes'
