Coilovers: Tein Street Flex
Just seeking ideas and opinions on coilovers for my GD. I was thinking about getting BC BR coilovers, but noticed that Tein have a new series out - street flex. They appear to be in between super street and a cheaper version of the flex. They've got the height adjustment on the bodies so adjusting height doesn't affect the spring pre-load.
Any opinions on these? Or any other coilovers that I should be looking at? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

cheap teins are just that, a decent set of HSDs would be worth a look and from memory are around $300 cheaper

I haven't seen or read anything about these new Teins so I can't really comment on them. But saying that HSDs are better quality than Teins? C'mon mate . . .
Tein Super Streets are a better coilover than the HSDs. And I'm not knocking HSDs, I've had them in the past, myself. |

From a basic point of view, when it comes to coilovers you are generally getting what you pay for.
What are you trying to achieve by changing out (i assume) OEM suspension? If you're looking for quality i.e improvement/adjustibility tein/HSD are a good baseline KW the pricier option but an improvement never the less. If you are just after aesthetics - maybe settle for a set of pink springs. If its aethetics/adjustibility - There's an absolute abundance of stuff for sub $1500. Important to ask yourself -what exactly you are aiming to achieve? -what is my budget A lot of people might rag you out for only wanting to spend $1500 or less on coils saying its a backward step from standard susp (which in fairness it probably is). Retrospective of that, if your OEM suspension has travelled 200,000k's its probably time to change out anyways. In summary $1000-$1500 - Ebay, STD, HSD $1500-$2500 - HSD, Tein, some KW's maybe V1 $2500+ - KW V3, Eibach etc (but i'd be surprised if you're in this region)

QUOTE] i said they are better quality than the cheapest grade of tein the cheaper japanese brands are now moving to chinese factories as oppose to being jap made, only the higher end gear is of any decent quality.

I've had super streets and hsd's prefer the tein super street but as others have said you get what you pay for.

Coilovers are something you don't want to skint on... trust me. Invest in some good ones.

I agree with what's being said. I like KW V3, but don't want to drop $3,000 on coilovers alone. If that were the only mod I was doing, then that wouldn't be a problem. So I'm thinking $1,300 for BC BR, or throw a few more bucks and get Tein street flex at about $1800.
Reading the US forums, they bag out the old teins for having springs that are too stiff.from what I've read, the street flex are comfortable on the street, and are comparable with the old tein flex. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I've got a set of Tein Flex for a GD with 100pcd wheels, like new and you are welcome to have them tested, provided you pay for them first, if no good you get the money back.
