Vehicle Tracking Systems - Anyone Know About Them??

Hey guys,

I'm having some problems getting my insurance sorted at the moment & one insurer has said that they will cover me on the provision that I get a GPS type vehicle tracking system installed.

The one they recommend that I use can be found here http://www.intellitrac.com.au/index.htm or another one that I have managed to find can be seen here http://www.ezitrak.com.au/ .

Has anyone got one of these fitted to their car or had any experience with these systems at all?

Thanks

That sounds bizzare!

Intellitrac is fitted standard to all Mitsu evo8s...have a read on the forums at www.evolutionoz.com ...lots of good stuff about them

From all accounts they are excellent and better than what is fitted on the later model evo9.

I believe cost is around $1500 fitted and includes the 1st year monitoring...annual fee after that was around $300 per annum. If they steal your car...chuck it in a container and ship to iraq...it can be found when it exists the container.....now how you get it back - that would be a trick question !

God Luck!

try RAC

I've tried them all & I am even using an insurance broker.

Allianz insuring a WRX?!?!?! Well there is a first for everything!

Insurance Brokers usually only stick with main stream.
Have you seriously tried them all?
Just cars for instance?
Also i would like to know what RAC said to you, I know shitloads of people with RAC including myself when I had the WRX, they were absolute champs to deal with, gave me a choice of repairer/mechanic and were cheap as!!

I've tried Just Cars, but the agreed value they gave me was ridiculously low and the premium & excess with them was damn expensive.

I've tried Shannon's, QBE (who don't even do WRX's btw), CGU, Elders, etc..... the list goes on.

RAC said that the local assessor had to look at the car, but the person I was speaking too didn't think that he would want to take it on.

HBF have asked me to get the car valued by a car yard, but none of them want to give me a valuation because it's for insurance purposes & they are worried about potential legal action. There is only 1 guy in Albany that can do valuations, but he's on holidays for a few weeks so I guess I will have to wait until then & just see what he comes up with...
