What to spend my money on? 2011 wrx
Hello,
I have a 2011 wrx. I currently have a catback Invidia Q300 with a Stage 1 Torqued Performance tune. I have about $1300 to spend and had been thinking about a set of BC Coilovers. I don't intend to track the car and started thinking whether the coilovers would be worth it. Have been losing sleep!! Not sure about lowering springs (eibach) with stock struts?! However this would leave a little bit of money in the bank for a down pipe (invidia aus spec) and a stage 2 tune?! Any experiences? Ideas? Thanks for your time. |

Instead of coilovers, maybe try progressive rate lowering springs on your factory struts.
(eibach, H&R, few others I can't think of) Best of both worlds really from what I have heard and read. If you don't plan on tracking and for a nice handling daily without the compromised ride comfort I would be going springs. Then I would be looking at some swaybars (perrin or whiteline) bot do great products front and rear. And if you have some spare cash, commit the full TBE and re-tune That's my 2 cents

Thanks Brett.
Not sure about your suggestion Tony. It might send me to jail!! I was starting to lean towards the lowering springs (eibach in particular). Just have heard bad stories about hitting bump stops, blowing the dampers etc... Not sure if I need to replace the bump stops? |

I've had Eibach Pro kit on my stock struts before going for coilovers and they were amazing.
Never heard of Eibachs blowing dampers or hitting bump stops more often, they're designed to be used on the stock struts....German engineering, can't go wrong.

If you want coilovers then stretch the budget a bit and get MCA Blues.

Process West TMIC? Ive done cat-back, coilovers, Enkei's and sticky rubber, Im putting the tune off for warrantee reasons but the big top mount and water spray setup is next on my to-do list.

Just remember a balanced set up is the best, maybe save up a bot more and do it in one go.
I lean towards power rather than handling, unless u chase some good time at ur track day. Since u accelerate more often than dive into a roundabout, right? using the Perth-WRX mobile app

Go springs over coils man, if you're not tracking it you'll regret spending the extra money that you could have out somewhere else.
Go springs then an exhaust and TMIC and tune |
