Air filter change

Hey all,

I am looking into changing my stock air filter out for a pod but noticed that it seems like my MAF sensor is connected to the air box directly and not separate. I have an 03 Impreza WRX. Any ideas on if I'll need to replace that as well or?

Won't need to replace the sensor. But if it were me i wouldnt change to a pod filter anyway. 1 cops love opening a bonnet and seeing one 2 the standard airbox and filter are pretty cleverly designed to produce laminar air flows passed the MAF.

In my opinion not too much value in it aside from a cool induction sound which in my opinion isn't worth risking a yellow.

IF you want to fit one, Perrin, COsworth and K & N do kits which include an intake pipe. I think AEM do one also.
But, like said above, limited performance gain on a stock engine. It will slightly improve response and probably give a slight increase in power.

Be careful changing your intake pipe which houses the AFM, often aftermarket intake pipes are a different diameter to the standard housing which will cause your AFM to read incorrectly and it will require rescaling.
