Its Total Quartz 9000 synthetic 5w50.
Good luck finding that at the repco/autobarn type shop, it comes in drums.
I just mix in Penrite 10 tenths 5w60 for top ups

Its the one at the bottom in the fully synthetic list http://www.totaloil.com.au/automotive-lubricants/technical-data-sheets-ao.html

I just ask them for a bottle and filter when i pick my car up from services so i can do a 5000km oil change at home. Usually have enough left over after the change for top up's if i ever needed it, which i dont.

They use 10w50. They only use 5w50 in the newer models where specified.

DC does the 02-07 classify as newer?
Used 5w50 in mine, said it was what they are currently using for all the WRXs

I've always known them to use the 10w50, and whenever I buy oil off them I get the 10w50.

By newer, I think Dave means 08+

Total don't make a 10w50 in their fully synthethic range, its 5w50 they are currently using

Sure about that?
I asked Doug what they used and the answer was 10w50, with the 5w50 for the newer models.
