Tonight I'll run it properly. Only gave it a kick to see I had spark.

Been home for an hour. Topped up oil and put some water in. Going to run a flush through just to clean a few lines before putting coolant in.
Idling beautifully and turbo winding on nicely. So impressed I've managed to build up an engine and have it run. |

It's an awesome feeling mate. I still get a kick out of knowing I installed the engine in my car myself. Enjoy

So a couple days on and really happy with the engine. Definitely a lot smoother, doesn't even move at idle whereas before would shake a little in the bay. Hasn't missed a beat and I'm just starting to wind the gears out now and stretch her legs.
Before though it use to bounce up to nearly 20psi when WOT in 5th. Now it's holding a constant 16-17psi 1-4th gear use to sit close to 17 and is around 15.5-16psi I know gauges aren't completely accurate and I also know I have a split on the intake side of the turbo hose that goes under the intake. $350 ex Japan so I need to find a 2nd hand one locally but wondering if the split could be allowing air to escape so turbo isn't hitting full boost or now my gauge is just more accurate as everything is newish. Thoughts anyone? |
