Default Brake Master Cylinder Stopper

Hey,

Anyone know if it's a DIY to install a Brake Master Cylinder Stopper? Got a Cusco one to go on and wondering if I can do it or if it's best left to the experts..

Cheers

Brett

Brett,

Pretty sure its an easy DIY. Subarooboy and myself installed one on his car. Took all of 10 minutes!

Thanks Dan, will look into it more....

Did it require any drilling of holes/cutting?

No drilling/cutting required. Just bolted the sucker on and made some little adjustments.

All good

If the end of the screw thread is narrow (or just the bare thread end), just make sure it points to the outer wall of the master cylinder, as opposed to pushing directly in the middle and thus on the weakest point etc. Leigh@RMS was kind enough to point this potential disaster out to me!

... or you could remove the flat end found on your standard 'mini G-clamp' (at any hardware store etc) and stick it on the end of the stopper thread for a more distributed load over the whole surface.

i put that bolt in backwards as per the instructions that came with mine, this way the bolt head spreads the load

I think that they are about $100. For street driving they are not necessary however for any track work I think that they are a good mod.
