You can't compare the ej's to the new fa series. they are direct injection, high pressure fuel system. I posted up a vid of mrt's where they put e85 into the new wrx without any mods except a tune.

The dash display for boost converts to an ethanol content read-out when tuned for it...

Wow thats interesting. I knew they could suppply an exhaust and ecutek but not that extensive mods from factory. Could be a tuner sports option pack i guess.

If your tuner can't deal with a quality CAI... Get a new tuner who knows what they are doing.

That's a good idea Kremer but Maximum don't like the Cobb CAI and as Trolley said before ASG don't like them either, Evo R tune was lighting up the dash so I'm running out of options. Who do you use?

It wasn't so much as they don't like it, it's a case that quite a number of CAI's simply pull too much air for it to be scaled correctly, or within a safety margin that the tuner feels comfortable with. Hardly a fault of the tuner.

My issue happened when the product was brand new, and never tried before. It was fixed up a bit down the track with a tweak to the software (which only the writer can do, not the tuner) and now most CAI on the later models can be scaled correctly and safely by ASG.

I use Graham of Boosted Performance in the U.S. He writes the raw code for Ecutek as a side job. I had to install a wideband to be able to log the equivalent data as a real dyno run but he he done a great job.

I think any of the CAI's can be used so long as either they are stock diameter or using MAP. And as Seagull said the air must be traveling straight when it gets to the MAF. Some use air straightening vanes and some just achieve it through placement.

I would never get rid of my AEM even though I will go speed density soon.
