I wanted to buy a replacement water pump online as I will be doing my timing belt soon.

I checked with the seller to make sure I would buy the right one and they asked me what month 2002 was my WRX made (which I'll have to go to my brothers shed to check).

But my car had a engine replacement about 90,000km ago so it probably isn't the same month as my car anyway.

Is there a way to tell by looking under the hood which water pump I need?

(I vaguely remember reading something about 1 has 3 hoses and the other has only 2 hoses going in to it but I don't remember where I read it or if I remember correctly).

On the right of the pump you can see 2 hoes connection

Both are for 02 WRX, I guess I'll go for a drive and check how many hoses I can see there but I'm concerned if my motor come out of something later it might not fit at all even if it has the right amount of hoses.

After a little research I'm none the wiser.

I just come back from a drive to check the water pump on my WRX and.. I can't see it without unbolting a whole heap of crap off the front of the motor, something I'd probably have to set a few hours aside for.
