Warranty on Engines from Wrecking yards?
Hey Guys,
If I were to buy an engine from a wrecking yard. What kind of warranty can you ask for, for the engine? Should they provide some sort of print out for the mileage of the engine or are you taking good faith into the equation from them with this information. Cheers |
They normally give 3 months. Overheating it will void warranty so new hoses and belts are a must.
Mileage is a grey area. |
Thanks AWDmoke

Mileage is a grey area.[/QUOTE] 3 months is generous. Most give a "start up" warranty. A few give a concrete warranty.... once its driven off the concrete the warranty expires. |
most times they give you the "gate warranty"

I have an MY06 STI Spec C fully built one for sale...twin scroll etc...<2000 km... |
I also have a genuine MY06 STI spec C engine (less than 1000kms), full harness, ecu, throttle pedal and cable etc.
However, convincing someone to ditch their 2.5 litre lump in favour of spec C EJ207 goodness is unlikely. |
