Need Advice Guys

Hey Guys,

Just like the syncro's thread recently posted I’m having the same issues when changing down into 3rd its fine though when going up I can feel a bit of metal to metal contact. Can you confirm this is the syncro's? Can this be fix individually or a new gearbox is the only outcome???

Not only I’m having troubles with the gearbox, I think the clutch is on it's way out...mainly when cold it doesn't engage properly and shakes the shit out of my car and when you give it a bit she starts slippin (rev fly up though no increase of speed)

It's pretty much standard so i've heard there are some clutches that kill you box...what should i be looking for? I do bout 150km a day so i need something that is very reliable but can take a good drive once in a blue moon.

Can you guys confirm my suspicions and some advise what I should do, places to go, costs? (like alot of you guys...budget is very tight!)

Thanks in Advance

Yeah i saw that a while back, was mainly posting in regards to the gearbox issue as i'm not sure whether it can be repair or i need to start looking for a new one...and of course a good combination of a clutch and gearbox for everyday use.

new clutch could help gear box problems *If it is crunching/gears being hard to engage/metal feeling because the clutch is not disengaging 100%* eg, does it happen on all gears a little bit, or just on third?

when was the last time the gearbox oil was changed, i had problems going into 4th and after a little longer 4th would not engage without huge effort and then 3rd started playing up, changed the gearbox oil and all was well :)

Well to be honest i have no idea when the last time the oil was changed...well 3rd is the worst though sometimes can be a real bitch going through any specially in the cold. I've heard the the redline oil is pretty good though can have negative effects on your gearbox later down the track. Is this true and if so what's a good alternative???
