Good to hear they're taking the time to get it done right, annoying as it may be to have to wait.

Update: More for those who don't use FB.

Have been bitching about the flu all week and am finally on the mend. So here is my verdict on the return of my sti. That came out wrong

Had it trucked up from Perth.

Initial reaction was wow, it was spotless! It is the little things that count with me and seeing someone look after my car as I would really put me at ease knowing it was in good hands all that time.

Took it for a spirited drive today, the hesitation/flat spot/bucking..whatever you want to call it is gone. Completely gone! It is so much more enjoyable to drive now and it pulls much smoother/firmer than previously. It is hard to explain from behind a keyboard but I am happy so that's what counts I guess. I no longer have 1000rpm of joy...

Onto the power figures.

Please see attached graph of previous tune (old motor) vs new tune (new motor). I am sure you will see improvements across the board albeit running significantly less boost which is what was requested by myself. This is a daily remember as well as being out in the sticks I'd much prefer to not go down this path again any time soon.

Parts list remained much the same and no other mods were done bar some arp head studs etc.

Criticism is welcomed.

Cheers,

Shaun

Hold on. Is the colour dyno chart the most recent tune?

Peak torque at 4900rpm?

The car makes little power before 4400rpm?

Colour = previous tune (old motor) vs black/white = new tune (new motor)

Touch laggy (turbo?) on the new tune but should drive well with those numbers.

Will be slightly laggy, turbo is a td06 isn't it?

Shaun - I'm making more power with my TD05 and same boost :P

Hahahaha cheeky cnt!

Yeah it is a td06. Definitely not well suited for my current application so will be looking at downgrading/upgrading...whichever way you look at it in the future.

It appears they have done a secondary air pump delete on mine as well. Know nothing about the reasoning behind doing such a thing but im sure it's due to ecutek being able to turn off cel's and having the motor out made sense?

It's a bit sad now, at the turn of the key my sti sounds so tame. Previously it would wake the neighbours up. What gives? haha
