MY00 High idling problem

Hi Guys,
First time to the forum for me great site with all the different feedback and that.
I was hoping that there is any members out ther in REX land could help me out with a bit of problem I have at the moment.[ High idling]

I have been doing a bit of major surgery to the car.
I,ve installed the following:

VF34 Turbo.
Large top mount intercooler.
Samco hoses all round.
Mandrel bent high flow headers and down pipe[heat wrapped].
3" turbo back exhaust.
Supersonic BOV.
K&N high flow filter.

After installing all the above I reset the ECU before firing her up.
She started first time but the idle was quit high 1800-2000 rmp and did,nt look like settling down.
I turned it off after it came up to temp and let it cool off a bit.Once it was cool I fired it back up and still the same, so i decided to take her for a spin.
Drove ok good trottle responce, good boost pressure 16-18psi all was well so I thought until I stopped[idle still high as before].

Came back home and put her in the garage to cool off again. :(

Did the following

Disconnected the air filter and pressurised the entire system to check for leaks on all hose connections 10psi, NO LEAKS.

Removed the MAF sensor checked and cleaned, OK.

Removed the IACV cleaned and checked operation by pulsing 12V across the terminals making sure that it was moving in and out, OK.

Reset the ECU again.
Started her back up again and still the same high idling.

So lads I,am in a bit of a spin at the moment not knowing which direction to take.
Any help would be great.Cheers.

Nails

Put your stock BOV back on and see how you go

otherwise, it might be the AFM

i just fixed a high idle problem, it should idle at 600rpm when warm but was starting to stay at 1000, turned out to be a sticky throttle control valve...

could also be throttle body, or afm.

I thought Idle at 900-1000 rpm was normal? 600 sounds too low to me.
My car also Idles at about 1500 on cold start, wait 30 secs or so and it drops to above stated figure

its not stalling, its more like 650 too :)

Hi guys,

Thank you very much for all the feedback, especially impresser.

Had a little play with the throttle sensor.

Brought the car up to temp slackened off the two screws that hold it on the throttle body and rotated it slightly in a clockwise motion suddenly the idle began to drop, a little more and the idle settled down to 750-800rpm.YIPPEEEE !!!!!. gave the trottle a bit of a rev to boost a couple of times and still idling well.

But the engine light was on , on the dash.!!!!!! DOH!

Can,t think what may be causing this one , may be a reset could be the answer?

What do you reckon guys?

Cheers Nails
