Default Starting / alarm issues after battery change

Hi All
Have got a 04 GD Wrx, the battery died when away on leave (brother didn't start car...).
I replaced the battery with a new one and the car started and drove fine for approximately 10 starts but now it will not start and only cranks over...

Being auto and not having the trans lock button like other cars I have not been able to even have the car towed.

I was told by a mate that the alarm may need a reset as the key and central locking still work.

Has anyone had this issue and know how to resolve it?

Car is 100% stock and still has the keypad.

Car is in Noranda ATM and need to shift it ASAP..happy to help with beer if needed.
Many thanks in advance
Al

Turn ignition on, put your foot on the brake and put the transmission into neutral. You can now have the car towed via a flatbed.
Sounds like a typical brant, get it completely removed by a workshop.

Try this:

• You need two people to do this
• Your car battery must be fully charged and in good shape

(1) Disconnect car battery negative terminal for 5 to 6 minutes
(2) Hold down 0 and # at the same time on the keypad and reconnect the battery whilst still holding down
(3) Release 0 and #
(4) Enter 0 four times on keypad
(5) The keypad is now reset to accept your PIN

I don't remember er which forum it was on but there is a easy bypass to the brant alarm too, something under the center consol and if I remember correctly it was just something like pull out the connector and use a short piece of wire to connect 2 pins or something like that.

If you don't have any luck let me know and I'll try to hunt down the instructions for you.
