I came here to ask for help. And I got it. 'What should I do to stop the ping-I can't afford to tune it right now' - wind down the boost. Perfect. I did it. It was terrific. Then I started gettin bagged out. That isn't much help
I got attacked from cowards punched then jumped from behind and have had a full facial reconstruction and suffered some brain damage 2.5 yrs ago. And I see specialists every 3 days (sometimes 3 in a day) every day since. My memory isn't the best and I'm not good with my words. And just wanted some help. Thanks to some of the guys, I got that help but almost half the comments were negative. And telling me I don't know what I'm talking about. That's the reason I asked for help.
So this "helpful place" is more like "50% help full, 50% bag out on a dude with a brain injury, who's asking for advice" Tops

I've never understood why people play the medical card like this. WTF has a brain injury got to do with any of this?
Are they seeking sympathy?

Just trying to ask for help without people like you NOT helping and putting me down.
Just don't comment. The issue is fixed.
Why comment negative shit when someone is trying?
Trying to make my hands type what my head wants is hard enough. I'm just trying to learn stuff dude. Why make comments like that?
No I don't want anyone s sympathy, just trying to let people know who is typing.
Just take it easy, as I said I'm a noobie. I'm jot here to get made fun of.
Do you make fun of people in wheelchairs?
And say "WTF are you playing the medical card like this? Do you want people's sympathy?"
I pray you never have to go through stuff like this dude.

I empathise with your situation, I'm sure it's difficult and I'm sorry you have to go through it. It doesn't really change what has been said here though, the answers to your questions remain the same. You're just unhappy that they weren't what you wanted to hear. Even after winding down the boost was your "solution" you continued to ask how you would go about raising boost without a tune. Just keep it stock until you can afford to do it properly.

Thank you.
You just answered everything in one go.
Thank you so much JRecardo. That's all I needed. Legend.
Boost now down to 11 to be safe.
A dyno tune is the only option. So I'll just hold out till the time is right.
Thanks again mate. You've just saved me $$ on a fuel cut defender or an STI ecu.
And most definitely saved my engine going bang!
I just wanna keep her running till I can afford the next car or rebuild (and a tune lol)
Cheers

AFAIK. Your standard ecu cant be easily tuned. 99gt has the old style ecu.

Jump on OZfoz.com if your not already. Theres is plenty of great forester specific info and experts there.
