Default Air suspension to springs

hi guys,

I'm travelling around Oz and bought a cheap Liberty 93 wagon AWD. I want to change the rear suspension to coil springs. this might sound like a stupid question but this is my first Subaru, is it possible to just buy springs and fit them over the airbag struts or must I get new struts too?
Is it easy to do?
I'm in Perth , does anybody have springs/struts to sell?
Cheers

There is no air suspension on your Subaru.
The rear suspension is a shock absorber with coil spring around it.

You can buy the shock absorbers/struts from anywhere like Repco.

The hardest part of replacing rear shocks is accessing the bolts at the top, which usually involves pulling rear seats and parcel shelf.
You usually need Spring compressors to take the springs off the struts. You can get these cheaply from auto parts stores.

The OP is correct in regard to air suspension.

FYI some Libertys did come from the factory with air suspension.

I recall converting several to traditional coil spring suspension when problems arose with the factory height adjustable suspension.

Really, what model? I've owned a 91, 92 wagon, sedan, LX and GX, all standard struts...

It was available on late 1st generation, (series 2) BF wagons.

Not the base model, the higher spec models.
