Default what are the benifits of a larger throttle body

considering getting the standard thottle body enlarged from 60mm to 64mm, for a 2.35 litre, heads and manofolds ported, larger cams and a GT30 turbo...would 1 expect to this enlargement of the thottle body as extra gains in performance through the whole rpm range.........

If you can get back to back flow testing done that might tell you what gain if any is possible - but you'll find a restriction in the factory manifold design before the tb becomes a major issue.

I agree with EXPLICIT, there are more restrictive areas in the intake than the TB. Air filter, filter box, AFM and intake manifold were my priorities - haven't touched the throttle body (yet).

Big gains made by porting, polishing & removing the mesh from my AFM

sorry, no internal shots

will be using motec, hence airflow restriction will be reduced as no air flow meter required, the manafold has been cut open and cleaned up with the matched ported.........have done all other mods to improve airflow, except the TB.... by increasing the TB by 4mm this will increase area from .00282 to .00321m2

That would be the logical next step then.
A 14% increase in area should be quite noticeable

Bigger Throttle body bore = better airflow = better throttle response.

You may notice the better throttle repsonse, regarding power gains, it helps increase torque slightly (someone correct me if i'm wrong), however you wont notice too much difference with the just the throttle body bored out. However along with another mods, it is a fairly decent mod to do.

remember that the throttle body is only a fraction of the intake/inlet system, take it the next step and port out the whole pre turbo and post turbo pipework to get best improvement, opening the throttle will certainly help, but i certainly wouldnt stop there.
