Default My02 STILL overheating

Just some more info... On the freeway it went right up, pulled off and slowed down, temp went down, as soon as I took off again it was back up again.

Coolant resovior fills right up as well when hot... Have booked it in at stechnic on Tuesday. If it does turn out to be HG how much am I looking at?

Yep that's what happened to mine well you have 1 each side to do won't have any change out of close to 3G all up your taking it to one of the best places you can. Hopefully it's something apart from headgaskets......

About $3,600 to do a head gasket exchange. Most of that money is labour...

The first question is: whats your budget? How much cash have you got access to? If $3500 is out of the question, then a $1500 replacement engine is going to be your choice.

Then I'd be asking myself how long do I want to keep the car for, if its only until the next car comes along then a quick swap out engine might be the go if it gets you back on the road.

If this car is you for the next 6-10 years, then doing up a nice engine might be the way to go.

^^what he said. I always planned on keeping my ugly shopping trolley for a very long time so when my head gasket went I went stupid and started building a nice motor in the hope of avoiding future big end and/or ringland failure.
