Thanks for the help guys, ended up with a red top optima.

Im starting to really hate this bloody brant system, when i disconnect the flat battery the backup siren goes off? Is there a way to turn the siren off temporarily? Or do i ignore it and continue to change the battery (its fkn annoying).

The manual is useless it just says that there is a key that you can turn to disable it, i cannot see any keyholes anywhere to do this.

Hve to agree with UNDRGND, I know him personally and Odyssey make some good batteries. Hey UNDRGRND, do you want to tell the board about the time you had that 180SX sideways on Morley Drive? Or was that a couple of 360's with some serious torque oversteer!

Bumping this up.

Got in the car this afternoon and tried to start it, dash went nuts on me and thought it was the immobiliser.
Promptly removed keys, noticed it was all good and it just wouldn't start.

Going to be scouting out the local places tomorrow morning in the hope of getting a decent replacement, to that end what brands should I look at/steer clear from?

Would it also be in my best interest to get a battery with the same CCA rating or go for a model with a slightly higher CCA?

Seeing that I don't use the car at all during the week, only on the weekends, would it be a good idea to get a trickle charger to keep the battery alive?

Did make a start on that thread last night.
Battery has now been sorted and also have a charger to keep the battery happy during the week when it isn't being driven.

We use bosch at work and I have one in my 06 wrx with a serious sound system, think its a 650CCA and cost me about $120 due to me getting trade pricing so not sure what they go for normally, but would highly reccomend as workshop has had no issues with these so far.
