Thanks guys. Do you think this sort of thing would be covered under the dealer warranty? Or is it not really an issue but more of an annoyance in their eyes?

Didn't realize that replacing the waste gate would be such a big deal...lol

Depends what part of the wastegate you are talking about.

But i took mine back to the dealer while it was still ynder the 3 month warranty and had 3 or so Sanjays sit in the car and try to deny even being able to hear it (this was before i put the 3" tbe on so wasnt as noticeable).

I hate to say this but you may be fighting an uphill battle and its something you may have to just get used to. You would prob spend less money upgrading the turbo to a VF series than trying to pin point and fix the issue.

If the issue is caused by a worn wastgate replacing or repairing the turbo should help. However if it's due to exhaust design and tune then it probably won't help. If you have a complete stock exhaust system and tune it's more likely wear and tear.

Something I found while searching, The 4th post by Edmundu somes the issue up well.

I imagine changing anything will change the way boost behaves in the car and it'll just move the issue to a different rev range. So I'm not too inclined to try fixing it till I'm ready to take it back to the tuners, they seemed to think it's not a big deal anyway. I couldn't hear it at all before when I was on the stock exhaust and stock tune.

Thanks again guys, appreciate you guys spending the time to help out

Perhaps I will look into other turbo options when I get a new exhaust.

And I think you're right Tony, trying to get the dealer to fix this under warranty would be quite a challenge.
