MY17 WRX Exhaust

Just picked up a 2017 wrx and looking at getting an exhaust, thinking of the invidia. Unsure on q300 or r400.
The biggest problem seems to be the new engine. I want something similar to the old rumble but as its a daily would be nice having the slow moving and idle quieter.
Wondering if anyone had any experience with the new shape wrx and the invidia exhausts? I have heard mixed online reviews about the q300 sounding the same as stock.

The quality on the invider is very good.

I would call Jarred at vision R. I think he has a system that they made for this model of good quality stainless steel and investment casting flanges

Not going to happen unfortunately.

Nice...bit late for me as the Invidia Q300 was probably slapped on today...or more likely it's not even been thought about [emoji23]

However how did this 'custom stainless steel' arrangement go...? I know what a flange is (teehee) but were they made from stainless as well...? That's pretty dam cool. Sounds awesome [emoji106]

Oh.....great wheels as well man, cool purchase [emoji869]

Peace
Josh

Not so sure man...I heard an STi take off with some 'grumble' when I first went into the place that is doing my mods, I was told the dude had just had an exhaust added and that was it. I couldn't tell you if it was Invidia (or a 15+) but it didn't seem to have the growl of the older ones.

I'm no pro bro but you asked so I gave a humble opinion [emoji106]

One thing I was interested in is that I asked one dude how many FA20DIT they had seen come back with issues. Even quite modded up versions...the answer was '1. Oh and Subaru asked us to fix another so two I guess'.

Could be BS but he didn't look like the type. It was good news after a few recent aspersions were thrown over them [emoji53]

Peace

Yeah, almost wish I had gone STI now because they still have the unequal length headers which mine doesn't have with the new engine.

Thinking will just have to keep an ear out for non sti wrx's that have given the exhaust a go.

thanks =]

CB, your emoji limit for the entire time you are on this forum was reached in this thread.

G'day mate,

Never knew there was an emoji limit! Stop smiling all the time mate [emoji23]

To the point though I have a Q300 going on my 2016 WRX presently so I can give you a little comparison to stock (to my ears anyway) when I get it back Friday or Monday from the gents. I'm happy with the WRX over the STi for a number of reasons...however car audio is my main claim to fame so the exhaust noise is something for everyone else! The whole inside will be so sound deadened that - windows up - I wouldn't hear much of it. Us bloody audio guys screwing up the 'way it's supposed to be done' lol

Just FYI it (will) have an verticooler and a cold air intake on it as well so I have niggling thoughts that they may affect the noise. Also has a fart valve - only really because I want to put that doubt of what else is under the bonnet into every HSV dude that comes past and verbally has a go at me.

I respect and politely wave at all nice cars around....but HSV owners are incapable of being polite for some reason. It's getting old really quick.

However back on topic if I can figure out how to get a little vid on here I'll set that up mate if it is of interest.

Peace,
Josh

Mate, even though TJ and Rosco have come leaps and bounds over me ATM, you'd have been owned in the cholesterol wars.

I'll give my two cents having driven my wheels for a couple of weeks with an Invidia Q300 exhaust...

Don't even bother thinking of the older boxer style 'rumble' that is recognisable suburbs away. It doesn't sound anything like it.

I actually think that is a good thing - just IMHO - because I dislike that constant monotone drone. That's just me! However the Q300 is quiet. It certainly makes a grumble but it is probably 2-3 times louder than stock...? Maybe a bit more...I don't know; something like that. Certainly not going to blow you away.

Maybe I just can't hear it over the bloody TurboSmart BOV - yes that will be up for sale when I get them to replace it.

Hope that helps...peace
Josh
