Default Modding my 2013 wrx

Please help!

I recently have brought a 2013 wrx. The car already had a tomei exhaust with a invidia catted down pipe, it also has a tune from maximum motorsports. However i am looking for a little bit more oomf while keeping it somewhat sensible. Every post i read says different thing and i am wondering where next step is?

I wanted to get a mishimoto CAI because i love the sound ( i understand they dont add much if any power to the car), but a lot of posts have said that the CAI is a waste under 350hp. Is it still safe to run the CAI? With a tune after install of course. I would be very happy if i could get the car too 250-300 hp. What are my next steps?

Thanks

Wouldn't bother forking out for a re-tune just for CAI. Waste of money in terms of value for money. New headers will give you a bit more torque. Personally I would save and do headers, new turbo and CAI all at once.

Just my two cents but I would stay with the stock turbo and spend that money on a flex fuel set up with headers and whatever else you want to throw at it. The response and midrange you will make with the vf52 will be awesome.

+1 for flex setup. The VF52 is a fairly capable turbo and midrange response is king imo in a low-moderate power street car. Some ethanol should happily see you into the mid to high 200hp range.

If you're happy to sacrifice a little response and don't want to go to flex/e85 you could go with a TD05 20g turbo, again easily good for the 260-300hp region.

CAI won't add much to your setup, but if you want it then put it on with other upgrades to go for a single tune. It will be plenty safe with a good tune, so long as you don't drive through big puddles if it's in your guard.

Wouldn't bother with headers personally for the cost vs reward factor. Again bundle them with other upgrades (flex or new turbo) for better results.

hahah if only it was that easy! Ive only had it for 3 weeks and it was a nightmare sorting out the financing and rest for it haha, I can see myself upgrading to an STI when i start rollin in the dosh.

Thanks for all the input guys. I was also looking at picking up a 3 port boost solenoid, before i got it tuned. Will i need a boost gauge? if so what would you reccomend, i see alot of people with the cobb accessport

If the car is already tuned don't bother changing the boost solenoid from what is there already.

Speak to the seagull about Cobb access stuff.
