Hey
Just wondering if anyone can shed any light on these connectors located behind the lower plastic below the guage cluster on my 2000 GF8 wrx wagon?
cheers

Connecting black plugs together and switching ignition to ON will have the Check Engine light flash if there are any stored fault codes in the ECU.

Connecting green plugs together will put ECU into diagnostic mode, and the relays will click and fans will switch on and off.

Thanks heaps for that , in terms of plugging in a OBD2 scanner do I need to connect either of these (green or black) to allow it read and clear any errors?

An OBD2 scanner wont work, this car uses a Subaru protocol called SSM.

You need a VAG COM cable and ECU Explorer software free from the net.

I got a VAG COM cable off ebay for $20 from memory?

Search "VAG COM" on ebay and you'll get loads of results.

This one for example, is the one I used. Plugs into vehicle and the other end plugs into USB on the laptop.

Download free ECU Explorer software, and it'll read real time data as the engine is running.
