Firstly: on a stock my01 engine, what is the maximum safe boost i could run day in day out above factory?

Secondly: is it a matter of taking the vehicle to a place like MMS and getting them to increase the std boost and everythings hunky dory. Or do i need additional engine electronic hardware + better engine parts.

You could get away with a MBC (Manual Bleed Controller) , would be better to get some electronic hardware to take care boost management.
