"Wont that involve cutting the exhaust?" Look at the exhaust under your car. After the turbo there may be a cat and or down pipe, then a more straight section. Then the rear muffler. In the straight section you can fit an exhaust resonator, hotdog, a smaller diameter additional muffler. Cut out 40 to 50 cm length of the 3” pipe for the resonator, allow for overlap to be welded. You can get a full muffler in but it will reduce the ground clearance leaving no scope for lowering. Apart from the cost and space taken up, there will be no performance loss provided it is a straight-thru type. If that doesnt work, put in a 2 1/2" restrictor just before the rear muffler, different muffler, heat wrap all exhaust, tighten all bolts and check welds whole car, ear plugs, select new girl friend on deafness , etc. Once you have tasted the performance of a 3" system after the stock exhaust going back to the original is not an option. |
