Ecutek to Verso ?
no reply from pm's...
 so will ask here. so without putting this into a sledging match, i want to know if ecutek'd computer can be changed to a verso tune . using the same ecu is it possible ? is it still 'flash' operated ??

AFAIK - yes!
Ecutek computer is still the OEM ECU with a reflash done to change maps, etc. Any reflashing software (e.g. ecutek, verso, cobb, DIY) only ever modifies the map - it's still the OEM ECU running the show.

OK then - in Tode's case, if the Verso operators can unlock his image (assuming it's locked), can they reflash away?

yes id like to know this too. and how easy is it to unlock?
The ecutek is still my propety - so i dont think 'legal' issues would come into play if i decided to get the previous tune over written by another one of a different type.

ECU's with ECUTEK tunes are locked. We cannot unlock ecu's with these tunes. The only way a tuner can install a Verso tune onto one of these ecu's is to either a)start with a fresh ecu or b) get the owner of the vehicle to return to his/her tuner and replace the tune with the factory tune.
Tode, I would ensure that the rest of your car is sorted first, before investigating any further ECU options. Chain is only as strong as the weakest link. Darren - Verso Automotive

Tode surely if you know your tuner well enough he will unlock it for you to get the verso retune.
