'98 STI WRX Suspension Replacement Options
Morning all,
I've just picked up a reasonably tidy 98 V4 STI with sub 90k on the clock, however 2 weeks into ownership the front struts have blown out, I assume from prolonged periods of sitting without being driven. This is my daily and I anticipate on keeping it bone stock as it currently sits i.e. I'm not looking for adjustable suspension or anything suited for track days etc. and want to know the options for a decent replacement for the factory struts. The parts catalogues I'm coming across don't seem to differentiate between different sub models of the Impreza and also want to confirm the part numbers I have are correct. KYB replacement would be the easy option being readily available, however rebuilding the factory suspension (if possible) could also be a possibility. The OEM part #'s I have come across for the 98 STI are: Fronts - 20310FA600 & 20310FA610 Rears - 20360FA242 & 20360FA252 These are taken from the below catalogue... however other sources state other part numbers.... Sorry - Part numbers in full as below:
Fronts - 20310FA600 & 20310FA610 Rears - 20360FA242 & 20360FA252 Won't allow me to edit original post |
IMO, you would be best to locate the factory sti struts. KYP replacements are nothing like the genuine sti inverted struts
