Digging up an old one here - But anyone else run 5000's and have pad knock-off issues? No "ticking" for me that has come to my attention, but after 6 months of use, i get a lot of pad knock-off even when tinkering around the street.

Often have to go for the double pump to get a solid pedal. Not aware of any movement in my wheel bearings etc.

I have not removed the anodised front face off my hats, but am willing to give this a go at next service.

Also have brand new pads up front, and new fluid. Issue has only really come about when using the 5000 series rotors. Would have thought DBA would have sorted this by now given it's a semi-competition rotor and they pride themselves on performance.

It can only be the wheel bearings or worn hubs once you have checked the main hub nut/s are tight.

So rotors are no longer an issue anymore, in regard to your first post back in 2006?
Using the new "T3" ones if that makes any difference.

Remember our outing at rac where I guard rolled my guards, towards the end I was having to double pump brakes, thought I had dodgy brake fluid but you saw the result 1 failed left front hub bearing.

I recently got new rotors and pads, I have a ticking sound noise that comes when driving, it's like the pad is sliding over the slots in the rotor but it's not as fast as it should be, it's at steady intervals, then it ticks alot faster when braking

I have EBC slotted and dimpled rotors and standard pads

Any ideas? Just sounds like something is rubbing?

Will be bearings Rich. Pad knock off is the disk moving the pads back, which only happens when the rotor has movement. IE worn bearings. Or super high G like track work. I used to get a bit at the track. Im pretty sure its a reason Subaru went to 5x114.3 as they can run bigger bearings.

If you leave it chances are you will destroy the hubs as well.

With regard to my first post back in 2006 it was clearly about a clicking noise, not pad knock off. I however covered pad knock off in the post dated 15/11 2008 on another post that also attempted to hijack the thread. My apologies Rich for not covering your fault in the first post of my thread
RUSSGT likes this.
