Fuel Light Faulty?!
hi guys,
it seems as tho my fuel light on my 99 wrx comes on well before the needle even get's to (E) empty, has anyone else had this problem, usally the fuel light appears when the needles is sittin on (E) or below not before it |
You should be so lucky... you have a fuel light!
Would be better to fill up before you got to the 'E' or before the fuel light came on anyway. I generally fill up with a quarter tank left. |
Agreed, but does it really make a HUGE difference. Id rather it come on at almost empty then empty. Chances are u've got more of a chance to get to a servo if it does it at 50kms to empty then 10kms to empty. Btw dont run ur car out of gas, makes ur injectors dirty as ive been told :P
|
Yeah my RX does the same thing, i comes on just after 1/4 of a tank!
|
Could be your guage that's wrong, should take about 51L from the time the light comes on, 60L tank.
|
be greatful that you have a fuel light. 94 grunters dont :(

Request for info on fuel light concerns....fair Technical Question that deserves an answer. Typically WRX fuel lights come on very early. Has it changed the point that it now comes on?? If so they (x2) may need a clean or adjustment, maybe even replacement. Remove and clean the slide potentiometers very carefully with a very fine grade wet and dry.
:director: As for most of the replies on this thread (apart from Pimpreza who had a good point) I can only say that's one huge collection of dribble. Try using the delete feature and keep your "Who cares about you, more about me" dribble to other non technical areas of this forum. |

open the fuel tank and remove the fuel pump assembly, its part of the float/wire assembly.
|
Behind Right Rear Seat.
Dis-connect battery as well and open fuel filler cap before removing assembly. |
