Motec Maps

Just a quick one... thinking aloud here.

Would maps be transferable between models of Motec?

Say M4 to M800 and visa versa?

They are the same resolution, but different features etc wouldnt work on the lesser models I presume.

Thoughts?

main maps(important ones) yes ;)

As long as all the scaling and load definitions are the same it should work out fine.

TJ as above its possible but why would you bother? the maps are far out for your car as it is, better to start from scratch and lose all the bad habits of your previous map.

ps, whos m800 did you steal?

LOL no ones.

the map for the car wouldnt have been fine if the motor was an auto hi comp shitter, but thats my fault. The previous motor spent 4 years in the car, 1.5 of those in my very abusive hands so no issue with the tune. End of the day that motor was fine when it came out bar the head gasket.

I wasnt intending on doing much with someone else map - but if you could find someone with a motec with a map to suit your new injector size, with a very similar setup it would give you a head start in regards to cold start and idle tuning etc.

No way would I use it for anything power wise.

early model motecs like the M48PRO are DOS based while the later M800 are microsoft based, so the info from 1 to the other can only be transfered manully.........

Yup figured as much - but if you have a number you know will work, saves times trying to find that number I guess.
