MOTEC CONTROL of second injectors M800 plug and plug

Hey guys,

Im looking at putting secondary injectors on the motec which is a plug and play ECU...

Does anyone know if using an expander will allow for this to occur?? Apparently i cant use my Air/con slot as the wiring tracks werent designed for controlling secondary injectors..

Any help appreciated..

it can be done with re-wiring.

the expander cannot do injectors though.

These are the replies I`ve had from motec on the subject.....he`s pretty adamant that it can`t and shiuldn`t be done..... But I`d be willing to give it a go !

If you were to do it thru the existing outputs which are used for "other"(a/c relay, ?, ?, ?)things on the pnp ,motec you would then of course lose the functionality of those things...what ever all of them are !

Tino email me you config file if you have it.

Hello Justin,
The M800 OEM has been designed to run a factory car with only four
injectors. The spare injector outputs are being used to run other
functions like the A/C. The circuit board has not really been designed
to run eight injectors.

There is not really any reliable way of doing it without major
modifications to the Sub Board. The small wiring tracks in the board
have been sizes to cope with the function they were designed for and
none of them have been designed with injectors in mind. You could
connect injectors to the wires where they come out to the factory plug
but it would be hit or miss as to weather the board will not be damaged.

Normally for this type of installation you would buy a normal "gold box"
M800 and do a wiring adaptor to the factory harness. There are no
guarantees you will not hurt the Sub Board of the OEM ECU or simply have
bad control of the injectors.

There is an expander but no for injectors. The Expander is mainly for
sensor inputs but will do some Auxiliary output functions definitely
will not do injectors.

Stace,

i dont mind do a re-wire of the imputs to get it going.. Im no way going to buy a gold box then have to pay an additional 2.5gs to get all the functions put on again...

Could you show me a simpler solution as youve got the same ECU and injector setup as me??

Justin..

ill send u the file to look at...

i had the same discussion with motec 12 months ago,

pnp is the exactly the same as the gold box, minus the injector drives for low-ohm injectors (just read the documentation)

and a m800 is identicle to a m880 apart from a milspec connector and 4mb onboard logging (again by reading the documentation)

if your happy to cut and splice your loom, then what your proposing is acheivable (and has been done before).

GTLeggy 15-09-2008 06:56 PM

What was the bottom line motec gave you stace ? not recommended or ?

Seems to be they are worried about the the board tracks to the "Spare" injector outs....but if its been done... ok !

GTLeggy 15-09-2008 07:08 PM

OK looking at the config the pnp only used on injector out(#8) for a/c clutch....Stace do you know where on the pin-out the injector 5-7 outs end up ?

Cheers

Just.. ill send u an email...

Thats not an issue stace.. If u could let me know here or by other means how u achieved this. Then that would be great...
