waxdass 11-02-2007 11:43 AM

vista uses like 800mb memory idling!
xp used about 280mb..

seriously wtf! its got ll these little bs programs running in task manager. mite wait til service pack comes out toget it

Same old stories from when XP was released!

"Oh noes it uses more memory than my Windows 98"

This is why I still run DOS 5 and only have 640kB of memory :D

In all seriousness, DON'T run Norton 2007. It's worse than spyware. However, I have found Symantec Corporate to be less intrusive and quite nice on Vista.

Everyone will have a love hate thing with antivirus programs. I have found NOD32 (dunno if there is a Vista version yet) and Symantec Corp to be the best for my use so far.

kato, the problem is that Vista isnt that much different from XP...
other than all the pretty visual changes.

mite as wel get windows blinds and get the vista 1
kato, the problem is that Vista isnt different in any way at all that actually makes it a quicker operating system, or in any way vastly improved over Windows XP, it's just eye candy for early adopters that enjoy throwing money into the face of good sense.
Fixed that for you sir.

:)

and Id rather drive nails through my own eyes than buy a MAC, seriously, i hate them with a passion.

Has anyone tried infecting a Vista system with current viruses that are out at the moment? I think MS claimed that Vista is their most secured OS is because the whole OS code has been re-written. Therefore old viruses won't be able to infect a Vista system, until viruses makers start making new viruses.

Tried one recently?

I've been using OSX 10.4 for less than a week in the new office and it's already convinced me that I need to own one.
